I worked at a couple of licensed Starbucks stores in high school and college, and for whatever reason I still remember how to make the drinks. The caramel macchiato is a little different ingredient-wise than you’d think, so I’m gonna share how to make them here. Below is what you’ll need:
- Any vanilla flavoring syrup (yes, vanilla!)
- Milk of your choice
- Caramel drizzle
The number of pumps of syrup they use is 3 for 12oz drinks, 4 for 16oz drinks, and 5 for 20oz drinks. You can adjust this accordingly. The first step is to pump the syrup into your mug/cup.
Most of the lattes have the espresso added before the steamed milk, but in the macchiato the steamed milk is poured into the cup, then the espresso is poured onto the milk. You can then add the caramel drizzle in the signature grid pattern on top.
That’s it! Now you can enjoy your at home caramel macchiato.
